We rank our favorite movies, restaurants and honey-do list priorities. Breakfast cereal? I easily have Lucky Charms ranked well ahead of Shredded Wheat. A Ford Mustang ranked higher than a Ford Fiesta. Vacuuming the living room ranked a few notches below cleaning the toilet on my annoying household chores list.Rankings provide order to an otherwise chaotic Colts jersey
situation. Like picking a fantasy football starter between two able candidates with the whole season hanging in the balance. Week 14 is a critical one. For some, it is the first week of playoffs. For others, it is the last opportunity to make a playoff push. Who should you start? The following rankings are a good place to start that discussion:QUARTERBACK1. Aaron Rodgers at Detroit. Rodgers continues to quietly produce solid fantasy stats regardless of the situation or opponent. This week, he gets a cupcake matchup as the Packers try to jockey themselves to the top of the NFC-North. Rodgers will be slinging the pigskin early and often.2. Michael Vick at Dallas. Vick has become a scoring machine this year and plays a Dallas squad that is both potent enough to keep the scoring high and a defense that can allow some big QB numbers.3. Drew Brees vs. St. Louis. Brees has struggled at times this season to produce the consistently awesome fantasy stats we’ve grown fond of … a game vs. porous St. Louis will fix that this week.For my full list of Week 14 QB rankings, go here.RUNNING BACK1. Peyton Hillis at Buffalo. Few players have done so much when so many expected so little. Hillis’ amazing fantasy production will continue against Buffalo’s run defense.2. Michael Turner at Carolina. The Panthers defense isn’t exactly the Steel Curtain, and Turner will have plenty of opportunities while the Falcons protect their big lead with clock management late.3. Ray Rice at Houston. Anquan Boldin at Houston. The Texans allow a ton of fantasy pointage to opposing receivers, and Boldin will shine in primetime Monday night football.2. Greg Jennings at Detroit. finally developed into the weekly playmaker we expected to see out of him before.3. Roddy White at Carolina. White has been in a mini-slump compared to the jaw-dropping numbers we saw earlier in the season. A big game for the Chargers. Gates is banged up and you need to make sure he’s playing on gameday, but if he’s out there, expect him to be productive in a game the Chargers need to win.2. Jason Witten vs. PHI. Witten doesn’t have the chemistry with Jon Kitna that he did with Tony Romo, but Witten still should produce against an Eagles defense that is kind to tight ends.3. Vernon Davis vs. SEA.
