Offense
In his first year, which was 2006, QB Vince Young (382 ATT, 238 COMP, 2,546 YDS, 9 TDs, 17 INT) won Rookie ofSoccer jerseys the Year honors. In 2007, he had an off year. If Young is focused and accurate, the team could put a lot of points on the board. With numerous improvements being made, the O-line should be strong. There's also been depth added to the running attack. RB LenDale White (303 ATT, 1,110 YDS, 3.7 AVG, 7 TDs) anchors that unit. The receiving group is thin, but it does include two solid performers—Justin Gage (55 REC, 750 YDS, 13.6 AVG, 2 TDs) and Roydell Williams (55 REC, 719 YDS, 13.1 AVG, 4 TDs).
Defense
The Titan defense was fine last season, ranking fifth against the ground game and 10th versus the air attack. The defense was rated fifth overall and they were seventh in sacks and, with 22 picks, tied for second in interceptions. Keith Bulluck, at LB, notched five pickoffs, while LB David Thornton had 122 solo stops. DE Kyle Vanden Bosch brought down QBs a dozen times behind the line of scrimmage (a team best). DT Albert Haynesworth complied a half-dozen sacks. The secondary does excellent work.
Special Teams
The return unit is thin. Fifteen-year veteran punter Craig Hentrich is tops and kicker Rob Bironas is accurate.
Overview
This team will rise or fall on the shoulders of Young. There's a lot of experience and talent on this team to support him. Coach Jeff Fisher's scheme features a tough as nails defense and a conservative offense. The Titans could be a playoff club.
